On 29th September, Jone Irigoyen from the Basque Energy Cluster presented the H2MAT project as part of the official programme of Wind Energy Hamburg 2022.
H2MAT at the H2 EXPO & CONFERENCE
On Thursday, 29th September, Jone Irigoyen, Basque Energy Cluster’s hydrogen project engineer, highlighted the Basque Country’s technological and industrial strength in the hydrogen sector, which is reflected throughout a value chain, in which the scientific and technological capabilities play a major role to boost training, R&D and Innovation as well as industrial development. This will position the Basque Country as a technology exporter on a continuously growing R&D market.
The H2MAT project, led by MONDRAGON UNIVERSITY, was presented during a speech focused on hydrogen initiatives in the Basque Country. Jone explained how H2MAT aims to design, manufacture and assess multilayer structures, High Entropy Alloy (HEA) – steel interface, as an alternative to the restrictions posed by stainless steel which is currently used in hydrogen transport applications.
